Team Raises £22k for Hospices with Snowdon Climb

A dedicated local team recently climbed the highest mountain in Wales to help families facing difficult times. The group from Barratt Redrow Southern Counties raised more than £22,000 for Shooting Star Children's Hospices.

On April 25, 2026, the trekkers completed an eight-mile journey to the summit of Snowdon. The team began their climb in the dark using head torches to reach the top in time for the 5.55am sunrise. This significant donation will help the charity support people across Surrey and London who are caring for children with life-limiting conditions. The hospice provides essential services including specialist nursing, pain relief, and bereavement care for more than 1,000 families.

Barratt Redrow Southern Counties has chosen the hospice as a primary charity partner for the year to help them reach even more people.

All donations help us to ensure that families have the opportunity to make every moment count and get the vital support they need."

Tom Sherriff, managing director at Barratt Redrow Southern Counties added: "Taking on the Snowdon Sunrise Trek is a huge physical and mental challenge, but it is nothing compared to the challenges these families have to face every day. We are honoured to support Shooting Star Children's Hospices as one of our charity partners this year, and to raise funds that will help them continue to provide essential care to families who need it most."
