A free women-only running community is bringing women together across West Sussex through fitness, friendship and support.
Community Growth and Inclusivity
Sweaty Buddha Fitness was launched to encourage more women to get active and has grown rapidly in recent months, attracting members from a wide range of ages, backgrounds and fitness levels. The group welcomes everyone from complete beginners to experienced runners, with members taking part in regular 5K and 10K runs in a friendly and non-judgemental environment.
Beyond Physical Fitness
Alongside improving physical fitness, the community aims to boost confidence, support mental wellbeing and help women build lasting friendships. The initiative has seen increasing numbers join each week, with many members sharing positive experiences of how the group has helped them feel more connected and supported within their local community.
Founder Recognition
Founder Jade Lock has also been recognised for her work, recently being named a Community Contributor Finalist in the Small Business Awards. She said the success of the group shows the positive impact that community-led fitness initiatives can have in bringing people together and supporting women's wellbeing.
