Children in Killamarsh are set to enjoy a brand-new playground thanks to a £100,000 grant from the FCC Communities Foundation. The funding will be used to install a modern play area at High Moor, located on Mansfield Road.
Community Boost
Councillor Steve Clough, Chair of Killamarsh Parish Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that the new facility will make a significant difference to residents' lives. "This project will provide a real boost to the people of Killamarsh," he said. "It's fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money, and we're really looking forward to our new playground taking shape over the next few months."
Funding Source
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund. Penny Horne, grant manager at FCC Communities Foundation, commented on the initiative: "We're delighted to be supporting the Killamarsh - High Moor Playground project and pleased that our funding will provide such a fantastic facility for children and young families within Killamarsh. FCC Communities Foundation is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that make a difference to local communities, and we're really looking forward to seeing this one take shape soon."
Next Steps
Councillor Clough added that the Parish Council is eager to collaborate with KOMPAN, the company selected for the design and installation of the playground after a competitive tender process. The project is expected to be completed in the coming months, bringing a much-needed recreational space to the area.
