Volunteers from the Llandudno Tidy Team have been out in force carrying out litter picking and weeding work at a number of prominent locations in the town. They were determined to make the town look its best for residents and visitors over the summer months.
New Name and Identity
The volunteers, formerly known as the Friends of Mostyn Street, changed their name to reflect their work across the whole town centre and Craig y Don. The group also launched a new logo and invested in new tabards and equipment.
Focus Areas
On July 1, they focused their efforts on the corner and railings by the Love to Eat café on Upper Mostyn Street and the busy area around Carlton roundabout. The team plan to tackle other areas over the coming weeks, including Augusta Street.
Impact and Commitment
Group chair Claire McElroy said: "Every bag of litter collected and every patch of weeds cleared makes a real difference to the look and feel of our town." The work forms part of the Llandudno Tidy Team's ongoing commitment to civic pride and ensuring public spaces remain clean, welcoming and attractive throughout the year.
Call for Volunteers
They are keen to welcome new members to help with future litter picks, weeding sessions and environmental improvement projects, regardless of experience. The team meets each Wednesday at 5.30pm at Trinity Church in the town, or follow the group on Facebook. "We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated volunteers who give their time to help keep Llandudno looking its best," said Claire. "Whether you can spare an hour or a few hours each month, we'd love to welcome new members to the team. It's a great way to make a positive impact on the community, meet like-minded people and take pride in where we live."
