A 25-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a violent incident in a Nottinghamshire town centre on New Year's Eve, which left a man in his thirties in a serious condition in hospital.

Charges Follow Town Centre Assault

Aiden Tyler, aged 25 and of no fixed address, is accused of the attempted murder of a man in his 30s following an alleged assault in Mansfield's Market Place. Police were called to the scene at 4.47pm on Wednesday, 31 December.

The victim of the attack was assaulted in the street and, according to Nottinghamshire Police, continues to receive treatment for serious injuries. His condition is described as serious.

Multiple Charges for Violent Offences

Tyler faces additional charges relating to other alleged victims. Alongside the attempted murder charge, he has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with two separate individuals.

He has also been charged with affray following an earlier, unrelated incident on Ladybrook Lane in Mansfield.

Court Appearance and Remand

The suspect appeared before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, 2 January, where he was remanded into custody. He is next scheduled to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, 30 January.
