Mohammed Bostan, 40, has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for an eight-year campaign of harassment against a couple and their four children at Studley Tower in Highgate. Birmingham Crown Court heard how he repeatedly entered their flat without permission, poured bleach and petrol on their front door, brandished knives, and made countless threats.
Eight Years of Harassment
Prosecutor Simon Worlock told the court that Bostan "has caused mayhem for this couple, who have four children." The family became so anxious that they slept next to their front door to protect their children from what the judge described as Bostan's "bizarre behaviour."
The harassment began in 2018 and continued until 2026. During this period, Bostan, who lived opposite the family, engaged in a series of incidents that escalated in severity.
Escalation and Violent Incidents
In January, Bostan, wearing a ski mask, and an armed accomplice attempted to force entry to the flat while the family was watching a film. In a separate incident, one of the victims was struck with a sharp object and called a "snitch" by Bostan's associates.
The court heard that Bostan also brandished knives and made countless threats, contributing to the family's constant fear. The victims' four children were particularly affected, with the family taking drastic measures to feel safe in their own home.
Sentencing and Restraining Order
Judge Stacy Newnham-Payne said: "This is serious offending behaviour and only immediate custody will do." Bostan was sentenced to over two years in prison. He was also given a restraining order banning contact with the couple.
