Mohammed Ammar, 22, of Walnut Mews, Weoley Castle, was stopped by rail staff at Selly Oak station on April 1 after failing to provide his details. Police were called and discovered 16g of cannabis on him. A subsequent search of his home revealed a further 51g of cannabis, along with dealer bags, digital scales, and a cannabis grinder.
Court Hearing Details
At Birmingham Magistrates' Court, prosecutor Ms Begum stated: "Officers found a strong smell of cannabis and he admitted he had smoked two hours ago." The court heard that Ammar played a "significant role" in the dealing operation, with mobile phone messages showing discussions about drug availability.
Ammar pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class B drugs between January and April last year. The sentencing was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

Mr Winstance, mitigating, said: "This is a man who primarily, not entirely, was dealing to fund his own habit." The case highlights the link between personal drug use and supply offences, as noted by the court.
