Bridgend Armed Forces Day 2025: Parade, Cadet Awards

Bridgend Town Council is set to honor the military community with its fourth annual Armed Forces Day in Bridgend Town Centre. The free event, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 10:30am to 3pm, promises a parade, military stalls and vehicles, bands, choirs, and activities including a climbing wall, children’s crafts, and a mobile cave experience.

Parade and Salute

The parade, led by pipers from the Queen’s Gurkha Signals, will step off from Caroline Street at 11am and proceed to the War Memorial. The salute will be taken by The Lord Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan. This year’s event also welcomes guests from Bridgend’s twin town, Villenave D’Ornon, France, who will host a stall and feature a performance by their choir, Chorale Du Lac, on the Entertainment Stage.

Cadet Competition

At 11:30am, the preliminary round of the Mayor’s Award for Best Cadet Competition will take place in Wyndham Street. Local Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, and Air Training Corps Cadets will demonstrate marching and presentational skills. Two cadets from each service will advance to the second round at 2pm, with the cup presented on the main stage at 2:45pm.
