Police are appealing for a potential witness to come forward after a man sustained facial injuries in an assault in Droitwich. The incident took place near the A38 at approximately 10pm on Friday, May 22.
Arrest Made
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident and remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Witness Appeal
Officers are particularly keen to speak with a woman believed to have been in the area at the time of the assault. Detective Sergeant Matthew Robinson stated: "We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish exactly what happened on Westlands Walk last night and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or the moments leading up to it."
He added: "We understand a woman was in the area at the time of the assault and believe she may have information which could prove vital to our investigation. Even if you think what you saw may not be significant, it could help us build a clearer picture of events. I would urge the woman, or anyone else who was in the area around 10pm, to please get in touch with us as soon as possible."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers investigating an assault in Droitwich are appealing for a witness to come forward after a man suffered facial injuries. The incident happened at around 10pm yesterday evening (Friday 22 May) on Westlands Walk, with the junction of the A38, when a man was assaulted."
The spokesperson confirmed: "A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody while enquiries continue."
