Two drug dealers have been jailed after detectives spotted them making sales from a parked car in Rugby. Ardian Beqiri, 33, and Kadri Kaja, 35, were arrested on March 4 after police observed a drug deal on Deepmore Road.
Arrest and evidence
At around 6:15pm, officers noticed a Nissan Qashqai with two occupants parked on Deepmore Road. They watched as a man approached the vehicle and completed a drug deal. Police called for backup and blocked the Nissan from leaving, arresting both men at the scene.
On Beqiri's phone, detectives found messages directing him to locations suspected for drug sales. In Kaja's pockets, eight deal bags of cocaine were discovered. A search of their shared home revealed a solid 20-gram lump of cocaine, 12 deal bags of cocaine, a bag of cannabis, digital scales, and a "tick list" used to track debts from customers.
Sentencing
On June 24, Beqiri, of no fixed abode, was jailed for two years for being concerned in the supply of cocaine. Kaja, of Wentworth Road, Rugby, was jailed for three years for possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
Police warning
Detective Constable Rapkins said: “Kaja and Beqiri were spotted making sales on a street in Rugby – they had no idea we were there until we trapped their car. If you’re out selling drugs to our communities, just remember – we could be anywhere, at any time, ready to step in.”
