West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after a man was punched outside the Bullring and New Street station in Birmingham city centre. The attack took place on Smallbrook Queensway, as the victim walked between the shopping centre and the railway station.
The incident occurred at around 7.20pm on Wednesday, September 5. Officers have been speaking to witnesses and analysing CCTV footage as part of their inquiries.
Police release image of man they want to identify
This morning, West Midlands Police issued an image of a second man they want to identify following the attack. He was pictured in a car, wearing a cream-coloured jacket.
The force said: "Recognise this man? We’d like to speak to him after a man was punched in Birmingham city centre."
"It happened on Smallbrook Queensway as the victim walked between The Bullring and New Street Station, at around 7.20pm on Wednesday, September 5."
Appeal for information
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They said: "We’ve been speaking to witnesses and analysing CCTV. We’d like to speak to this man as part of our investigation."
