West Midlands Police have sealed off a busy area in Birmingham city centre this afternoon following an incident. Several cordons have been erected to block off a section of Navigation Street, outside Grand Central, the entrance to New Street Station, on Saturday, August 15.
Police community support officers (PCSOs) were spotted guarding the scene from around 1pm. Shoppers are being prevented from passing through the cordon, which is positioned outside Costa. Lines of police tape have been placed across the small scene, while traffic has also been stopped from travelling through the area.

The exact nature of the incident is currently unclear, but the cordon has been in place for several hours.
