A 16-year-old boy has been left with serious injuries following a horrific machete attack in broad daylight over the Bank Holiday weekend. The teenager was rushed to hospital with severe wounds to his chest and face after being stabbed in Dudley, West Midlands, on Saturday afternoon.
Attack Details
Emergency services descended on Duncan Edwards Close after violence broke out at around 2pm, involving a group wielding machetes. Officers say the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by two young men on a moped. The pair launched a brutal assault before making their escape, and detectives have since launched a manhunt for the attackers.
Police Investigation
West Midlands Police has retrieved CCTV and mobile phone footage and is appealing to members of the public to assist in identifying those responsible. The boy is reported to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital following emergency surgery.
Detective Inspector Joe Davenport, from the force's Major Crime Unit, said: "This was an horrific attack in the middle of the day and it could easily have resulted in this boy losing his life. We've been working tirelessly since then to understand exactly what happened, and who was responsible, and I'd urge anyone with information to get in touch with as soon as possible."
