Two suspected drug dealers have been arrested in Birmingham after police discovered a 'live and viable' revolver during a targeted raid on a property.
Early Morning Raid in Acocks Green
Officers from the Acocks Green Priority Crime Team, supported by the Operational Support Unit, executed a warrant at an address on Gospel Lane in Acocks Green in the early hours of Monday, 19 January 2026.
The operation was part of West Midlands Police's ongoing Operation Target, which focuses on removing weapons and illegal substances from the streets.
Firearm and Suspected Class A Drugs Recovered
During the search of the property, police made a significant discovery. They recovered a firearm, described specifically by the force as a live and viable revolver.
Alongside the weapon, a quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs was also seized from the address.
Two Men Remain in Custody
Following the discoveries, police arrested two men at the scene. A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were both detained on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Both individuals were taken into police custody and remain there for questioning.
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "Under Operation Target, we’re relentless in our work to take guns and drugs off the streets of the West Midlands."
