Three teenage boys have been charged following an incident in Wednesfield where a shop worker was allegedly threatened with a machete after asking a group to leave a store.
Incident Details
Police were called to the scene at around midday on Sunday, May 31, after reports that a staff member had been threatened inside a shop. The worker had reportedly asked the teenagers to leave, leading to the alleged threat.
The three boys, one aged 16 and two aged 15, have been charged with threatening a person with a blade in a public place. Due to their ages, they cannot be named.
Police Response and Charges
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "Three teenagers have been charged after threats were reportedly made by youngsters with machetes when a shop worker asked people to leave a store in Wednesfield. We were alerted shortly after midday on Sunday, and following quick-time enquiries, armed officers located and arrested three teenage boys."
The boys have been granted police bail with conditions and are scheduled to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on June 24.
