Appeal for Witnesses After Fatal Stabbing in Redditch

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a fatal stabbing in Redditch. Officers were called to Martley Close at 8:35 am on Tuesday, April 28, following reports that a man had been stabbed.

A 41-year-old man was found with a serious chest injury and was taken to hospital by paramedics. He died a short time later. It is believed the incident took place in the underpass linking Longdon Close, Martley Close, and the Woodrow Centre.

A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher, from the Major Investigations Unit, said: “We are continuing to appeal to the public for any information that could help us build a clear picture of what happened on Tuesday morning. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in or around Martley Close, Longdon Close, or the Woodrow Centre on Tuesday morning, especially if you saw a man riding an e-scooter or anything that didn’t seem right. Even the smallest detail could be significant, so we would urge anyone with information, or any dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage, to come forward as soon as possible. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this incredibly difficult time, and we thank the community for their continued support while we carry out our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police. If there is a story you think our journalists should be looking into, email us on newsdesk@birminghammail.co.uk.
