A violent burglary gang, including two members from Birmingham and another from the Black Country, carried out a night of terror, raiding homes and attacking residents. Mohammed Ramirez, 26, of Kenilworth Road, Aston, and Sebastian Kandrac, 20, of Normandy Road, Aston, were part of a four-strong group that committed two frightening home invasions last summer.
Along with Nathan Evans, 26, of Dudhill Road, Rowley Regis, and Junior Yawli, 20, of Parry Road, Coventry, the gang smashed their way into a home in Earlsdon, Coventry, at 1am on July 23, 2025. Armed with a machete, they threatened those inside but fled when the victims called 999.
Second Raid Within an Hour
Undeterred, less than an hour later, the gang broke into a second address in Wyken, Coventry. Armed with machetes, they punched a man inside and demanded money. They stole kitchen knives and a games console before escaping in two cars belonging to the victim.
Within 40 minutes, a police helicopter spotted one of the stolen cars traveling in convoy with the second stolen vehicle. Following a pursuit, during which the vehicle went the wrong way down the A446, the group was arrested by West Midlands Police armed officers.
Evidence and Conviction
Police recovered knives and machetes, and searches of an address linked to the gang led to the recovery of the stolen games console. Detectives analyzed hours of CCTV footage to prove their involvement and bring them to justice. Three of the men were jailed on July 15, 2026, while one awaits sentencing.
Ramirez was jailed for nine years after being found guilty of two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. Evans was sentenced to six years and six months for one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. Yawli received 11 years and two months for two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. Kandrac, who pleaded guilty to all offenses, will be sentenced at a later date.
