Staffordshire Police have officially named the victim of a fatal incident in Burntwood, which is being investigated as a murder. The victim has been identified as Sashon Richards Brown, 32, of no fixed abode.
Incident Details
Police were called to Hazel Grove in Burntwood shortly before 9am on Tuesday, May 5, following reports of a disturbance involving multiple people. Upon arrival, officers discovered Sashon Richards Brown with severe injuries. West Midlands Ambulance Service was dispatched at 9.17am, sending an ambulance, a paramedic officer, a trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, and the Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter. Despite advanced life support efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10am.
Arrests and Investigation
Three individuals—two men aged 32 and 27, and a woman aged 33—have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody as enquiries continue. Specialist officers are supporting the victim's next of kin.
A dog was also stabbed during the incident and taken to an emergency veterinary clinic in critical condition, where it remains.
