Two men are due in court after a cannabis farm was allegedly discovered in a quiet Birmingham street. West Midlands Police executed a warrant at a property on Richmond Avenue, off Moseley Road, in Balsall Heath on Wednesday, July 23, where they reportedly found a drugs factory. A firearm was also retrieved during a search, and two men were arrested at the scene.
Charges Filed Against Suspects
Jetmir Hoxha, 20, and Zenel Domi, 21, both of Richmond Avenue, have been charged with cultivation of cannabis, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and abstracting electricity without authority. The pair were listed to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 23.
Police Statement on the Operation
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Two men are appearing in court today charged with multiple offences including drugs and firearms. A warrant was carried out at an address on Richmond Avenue, Birmingham, yesterday, where officers found a cannabis farm. Following further searches of the property, officers found a firearm. Two men were arrested from the property."
The duo were remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not disclosed further details about the scale of the cannabis farm or the type of firearm recovered.
