Police raid uncovers arsenal of weapons in Cradley Heath home
A 59-year-old man has been charged with multiple weapons offences after West Midlands Police officers discovered a cache of weapons, including hand grenades, at a house in Cradley Heath. The discovery was made during a search of a property on Primrose Close earlier this week.
Police recovered firearms, ammunition and several hand grenades from the address. Blue tents were erected outside the property as officers conducted the search.
Carl Andrews charged and remanded
Carl Andrews, of Primrose Close, has been charged with multiple weapons offences. He was remanded in custody and appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on 23 July 2026.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A man has been charged after we recovered a large number of weapons from an address in Cradley Heath. Officers have been carrying out searches at an address in Primrose Close, where they recovered firearms and ammunition as well as several hand grenades and other weapons. Carl Andrews has been charged with multiple weapons offences."
No wider threat to community
Police have reassured the public that there is no wider threat to the community. The spokesperson added: "Enquiries are ongoing and there is not thought to be any wider threat to the community. Officers are remaining at the scene today while they continue to search the property."
