A mother from Tamworth has issued a heartfelt plea for change after her six-year-old daughter was left with life-changing injuries when a motorbike struck her while she was playing on her bike.
Incident Details
The collision occurred on Monday, July 13, in Cambrian, Tamworth. Sienna was riding her bicycle on a cycle path in a park when a motorbike hit her. The impact was so severe that it split her bike in half, according to her mother.
Sienna was placed in a medically induced coma and faces a long road to recovery. Her mother described the injuries as life-changing, noting that Sienna suffered a partial internal decapitation. She stated that doctors have called her survival a miracle.
Legal Proceedings
Corey Griffiths, 20, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report a road accident, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and handling stolen goods. A 16-year-old boy who was also arrested has been released on conditional bail.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than £17,000 to support Sienna's recovery. Her mother shared a message on the page, saying: 'This could happen to any child. If nothing changes, it is only a matter of time before another family is living our nightmare.'
She added: 'Sienna was riding her bike and playing with her friends after school on a cycle path in the park—a place where children should be able to laugh, play and feel safe. Instead, she was struck by a motorbike that was being ridden where it never should have been.'
Mother's Plea
In her statement, the mother expressed anger and heartbreak: 'To the people who choose to ride motorbikes up and down cycle paths, parks and places where children play: every time you make that choice, you are gambling with someone's life. You may think it won't happen. You may think you are in control. But your decision could kill a child. It nearly killed mine.'
She described Sienna as an active, fearless girl who loved MMA and backflips on the trampoline. 'In an instant, all of that changed,' she said. 'No family should ever have to hear the words we heard. No child should have to endure the pain Sienna has endured.'
The mother concluded: 'Sienna is the strongest, bravest, funniest girl I know. She is still fighting every single day. Now we will fight too — not just for her, but for every child who deserves to be safe while playing with their friends. Please don't wait until the next child isn't as lucky. This has to stop.'
