A 55-year-old woman from Birmingham has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of tech boss Neil Muller at his £2.5 million mansion in Warwickshire. The provisional cause of death has been revealed as a stab wound to the chest.
Details of the Incident
Mr Muller, 54, the chief executive of Derby-based IT firm Node4, was found with a single stab wound to the chest in a downstairs bathroom off the kitchen at his home on Langley Road in Claverdon on June 7. He also had a superficial cut to the wrist, and a weapon was discovered nearby in the sink. Paramedics were called at 6.15am, but despite efforts, Mr Muller suffered a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at 6.37am.
Inquest Hearing
At a four-minute hearing at Coventry Coroner's Court on Friday, coroner Sean McGovern opened an inquest into Mr Muller's death. A post-mortem examination gave a provisional cause of death as stab wound to the chest, subject to further examination. The coroner adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed, pending a final report from the pathologist and further police evidence.
Arrest and Bail
Warwickshire Police confirmed that a 55-year-old woman from Birmingham was arrested shortly after Mr Muller's body was found. She has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
