Police Seek Man After Hodge Hill Stabbing

West Midlands Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can assist with an investigation into a stabbing in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Coleshill Road in Hodge Hill at approximately 2:10pm on 15 March.

Victim Hospitalised After Knife Attack

A man sustained knife wounds to his arm and leg during the attack. He was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries were not deemed life-threatening, according to police.

Officers have now publicly appealed for help identifying the individual pictured, who was captured on CCTV at a bus stop near the scene. He is described as wearing a black hat with a white Nike-style tick and a distinctive windbreaker jacket.

Police Statement on Ongoing Investigation

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We want to speak to this man after another man sustained stab injuries in Birmingham. A man was taken to hospital with arm and leg injuries although thankfully they were not life-threatening. It followed an incident in Coleshill Road, Hodge Hill, at around 2.10pm on 15 March. We've been carrying out a number of enquiries, which includes a thorough review of CCTV in the area, and have identified this man we want to speak with."

Recent Spike in Violent Incidents Across Birmingham and Black Country

The appeal comes amid a series of violent episodes in the region. On the same day the appeal was issued, a man in his 20s died following a stabbing in Wolverhampton city centre. Police were called to a car park on Clarence Street at around 3am on Sunday, 5 July, where the victim was found with a chest injury.

Earlier, on 11 June, two men were injured in a stabbing outside Birmingham's main library in Centenary Square. On 1 July, a 16-year-old boy was shot in Alum Rock shortly before 5:30pm and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Moments later, a man was stabbed outside shops in Bartley Green at around 5:40pm; his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

The following day, 2 July, a major incident was declared in Oldbury after a 19-year-old was stabbed in the town centre following an altercation between a group of teens at 12:15pm. He was left fighting for his life.

In a separate incident on 23 June, an 18-year-old was knifed during a "fight" in Victoria Square, Birmingham, at 8:30pm. These events highlight a concerning trend of violence in the region.
