Waitrose has issued an urgent recall for its 8-pack Chocolate Chip Brioche Rolls, priced at £1.50, due to potential contamination with metal and plastic fragments. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has deemed specific batches of the product as "unsafe to eat."
Affected Batches and Refund Details
The recall applies to products with a best-before date of July 26, 2026, and batch code B26177. Customers who have purchased the affected multipacks are urged not to consume them and to return the packets to any Waitrose & Partners store for a full refund. Waitrose, which has locations in Birmingham, stated: “We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused.”
Previous Recall: Dunelm Electric Blankets
This recall follows a separate alert from Dunelm, which issued an urgent recall for six of its Cosy & Warm Electric Blanket Single products. The blankets were found to have a defective copper wire inside the cable, posing a serious fire risk and failing to meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Customers were advised to stop using the blankets immediately and contact Dunelm at 0333 234 0870 for a free replacement cable or return the blanket for a full refund. Only blankets from the 2022 and 2023 batches are affected.
