From Humble Beginnings to Bubble Tea Success in a Home Garage
Tausif Hussain, a 39-year-old Muslim entrepreneur from Wednesbury in the West Midlands, has built a popular bubble tea business from the ground up—literally from his own garage. His company, Bubble T'z, operates as a dark kitchen, a delivery-only setup with no seating or signage, allowing him to serve customers directly from his home.
A Family Affair: Bonding Over Bubble Tea
Running a business from home requires teamwork, and Tausif, who goes by Taz, emphasizes that his entire household pitches in. His wife often manages operations when he's away, and his children join him in the kitchen during busy periods. "It's like family bonding time," Taz explains, highlighting how his venture has strengthened family ties while building a career.
Navigating Ramadan as a Home-Based Entrepreneur
Operating during Ramadan presents unique challenges, but Taz finds it more manageable this year due to earlier fasting times. However, with evening business hours, he often has to eat quickly before fulfilling tea orders. Beyond logistics, Taz focuses on charitable giving during this holy month, adhering to Zakat, one of Islam's five pillars. "I try and do a lot for charity, especially in Ramadan," he says, reflecting his commitment to community support.
More Than Money: Building Community and Happiness
Since starting Bubble T'z in 2022, Taz's business has flourished alongside the viral rise of bubble tea. Yet, his primary goal isn't just profit. "My goal is not just 'making money' but 'making people happy,'" he shares. He strives to provide value without burdening the community, ensuring customers enjoy what he offers. This philosophy has been central to his journey from having "nothing" to running a full-time enterprise.
Inspiring Others: Take the Risk and Follow Your Gut
Taz's success story serves as inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs. With no prior business experience and limited funds, he took a leap of faith. "Go with that gut feeling and do it—take that risk," he advises. Whether it means seeking support from family or taking out loans, he believes perseverance pays off, as evidenced by his own transformation from a novice to a thriving business owner.
