Kent's Dementia Music Initiative Approaches Fundraising Deadline
A community-driven campaign aimed at delivering 60 inclusive music sessions to 200 individuals living with dementia across Kent is entering its crucial final phase. The project, spearheaded by Musical Walkabout CIC, has successfully garnered nearly £9,000 in donations from 92 supporters through its Spacehive fundraising platform.
Council Support with a Condition
Kent County Council has committed a significant pledge of £5,247 to bolster the initiative. However, this funding is contingent upon the campaign reaching its full target of £15,000. The conditional nature of the council's contribution adds urgency to the final push, as the group must secure the remaining funds to unlock the pledged amount and proceed with the sessions.
How to Support the Cause
Community members and supporters can assist in several ways to help cross the finish line:
- Make a donation: Even small contributions can provide essential momentum during these critical final days.
- Share the campaign: Spread the word to individuals who may have an interest in music, community engagement, or dementia support services.
- Forward to networks: Circulate information among personal and professional contacts to amplify awareness and potential backing.
