Robbie Williams' Zoom call with 94-year-old fan

A 94-year-old superfan was left "absolutely amazed" after pop icon Robbie Williams surprised her with a personal video call, a heartwarming gesture sparked by a viral social media clip.

The Viral Video That Started It All

Norma, a resident at Humberston House Care Home in North East Lincolnshire, shared her lifelong admiration for the Take That star in a short video filmed by wellbeing coordinator Bailey Greetham-Clark. The clip, posted online, quickly amassed over a million views and thousands of tags directed at Robbie Williams.

The crucial tag came from the singer's own daughter, Teddy, who saw the video and urged her father to make contact. Just days before Christmas, Robbie answered the call, dialling in from Miami for a surprise that Norma never saw coming.

A Surprise Call from Miami

Completely unaware, Norma was handed a laptop by Bailey, who told her: “I’ve got a bit of a surprise for you. You know you wanted to meet Robbie Williams? He’s actually on call here, right now.”

When Robbie appeared on screen, Norma greeted him warmly, saying, “Hello Robbie, I’ve followed you on the television since you were in Take That, and you are my favourite.” The singer replied warmly, explaining that his daughter had sent him the link and insisted he talk to her.

The pair chatted for more than 20 minutes, with Robbie asking about Norma's day and her Christmas plans. He generously offered: “If I’m in the UK and if I’m up north, I’ll try and pop in and say hello in person.” To which a delighted Norma responded, “Oh my goodness, I would love that. I would be king of the castle.”

A Lasting Memory and a Promise

Bailey noted that Robbie was genuinely curious about Norma's life, making the conversation feel like “two mates catching up.” Norma thanked the star “for being you,” and he promised to visit if possible, prompting her to laugh and say, “Hope so, if I’m still alive!”

Reflecting on the extraordinary experience afterwards, Norma said she was “absolutely amazed” and that nothing like it had ever happened to her before. Bailey said the encounter “made her Christmas,” leaving Norma feeling “like the Queen afterwards — so special and important.”

In a post online, Bailey later thanked everyone who helped tag Robbie Williams, writing: “We actually made it happen.” The story stands as a beautiful example of how a simple online gesture can create a priceless real-world moment.
