An inquest opening has revealed that 18-year-old Tallulah Bradford was holding onto the side of a moving loading vehicle before she fell off and was run over at Chalkwell Park in Westcliff, Essex. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 13, and Tallulah died on June 19 at Royal London Hospital from traumatic head injuries.
Details of the Incident
Emergency services were called to Chalkwell Park after reports that a group of individuals had taken unauthorised control of a small articulated loading vehicle. At Chelmsford Coroners Court on July 16, the inquest heard that Tallulah was clinging to the side of the vehicle while it was in motion. She subsequently fell and was run over by the vehicle.
Tallulah was transported to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where she passed away on the evening of June 19. The provisional cause of death was traumatic head injuries.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Essex Police confirmed that enquiries into the incident are continuing. An 18-year-old man from Westcliff and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with the incident. Both individuals remain on bail until September.
In a statement, Essex Police said: "We know there were a large number of young people in the area at the time, and we believe some may have witnessed what happened. We need anyone who has information and who we've not already spoken with to come forward."
Appeal for Witnesses
The force urged anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam, or other footage to contact them, quoting incident 39 of 13 June. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to establish the full circumstances of the tragedy.
