Free Easter Garden Event in Sleaford Market Place Offers Family Fun

Families looking for delightful Easter entertainment can head to Sleaford's Market Place for a complimentary Easter Garden event next month. Scheduled for Saturday, April 4, the event will run from 10am to 2pm, providing a perfect opportunity for seasonal enjoyment.

Activities and Attractions

Visitors will be able to explore the garden and participate in a variety of engaging activities. Seasonal craft sessions will be available, alongside garden games such as hula hoops, hopscotch, and skipping ropes. Fun photo opportunities will feature inflatable Easter eggs, creatively designed by the local company Glow Inflatables.

As part of the festivities, attendees are encouraged to join the Easter Trail. This involves hunting for nine letters hidden at businesses around the Market Place. Participants can collect a sheet from staff at the Easter Garden, and each business will provide a different lettered stamp. The participating businesses include:

Once the trail is completed, visitors must submit their filled sheet to enter the garden and receive a chocolate or sweet prize as a reward.

Local Business and Community Involvement

Outside the garden, a vibrant mix of stalls from local businesses and community groups will be available for browsing. Notable participants include Heart of Lincs, Mrs. Smith’s Cottage, and the Sleaford Climate Action Network. Additionally, Teenage Market stalls will showcase the talents of young entrepreneurs, adding a dynamic element to the event.

Council Support and Future Events

Councillor Richard Wright, Leader of North Kesteven District Council, expressed enthusiasm for the event. He stated, "This free event is a great way to both celebrate Easter with a fun trail, craft activities, and photo opportunities, whilst also supporting local businesses. The Easter trail will lead you to discover new businesses to love or to spend time somewhere you already enjoy, in Sleaford. We look forward to welcoming you to the Easter Garden and to the other exciting events we have planned in the Market Place later this year."

The event has been funded by the Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). Following a successful programme, North Kesteven District Council will fund a further year of events at Sleaford Market Place for 2026/27.

More exciting events are planned for the Market Place later this year. Save the dates for:
