Solihull Mum and Daughter Launch Monthly Family Disco After Wedding Party High
Solihull Family Disco Launched After Wedding Party Inspiration

Solihull Duo Creates Monthly Family Disco to Recreate Wedding Party Joy

Have you ever attended a wedding or family celebration, enjoyed an incredible time, and wondered why such gatherings cannot occur more frequently? This exact sentiment inspired a mother and daughter from Solihull to take matters into their own hands and establish a regular family disco event.

From Party Inspiration to Community Action

Zoe Reece and her ten-year-old daughter Sophie Baker conceived the idea after experiencing a friend's 50th birthday party in Sutton Coldfield. The event featured a proper family atmosphere with guests of all ages enjoying music from a DJ.

"We hit the dance floor and had a fabulous time, dancing to ABBA and all the cheesy tunes we knew," recalled Zoe, who resides in Dickens Heath and works in marketing and project management. "I had such a wonderful time with Sophie; it felt like a real high, a moment of pure joy. I thought, when am I next going to experience something like this with her again?"

Recognizing that people her age are not frequently hosting house parties or weddings, Zoe decided to create the opportunity herself. Together with Sophie, they founded the Solihull Family Disco, inviting everyone to join in the fun.

The Electric Social Solihull Family Disco Details

The inaugural event, named The Electric Social Solihull Family Disco, is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026. It will be held at Knowle British Legion on Warwick Road in Knowle, running from 2pm to 4pm to accommodate families without requiring a late night.

Designed specifically for parents with children aged four to eleven, the afternoon promises an engaging mix of music, games, vibrant lights, and plenty of dancing. Zoe emphasized that the concept revolves around parents enjoying themselves alongside their children, rather than merely supervising kids' activities.

"The idea is that parents can have a fun time with their kids, rather than just the kids with other kids," she explained. "It's about families interacting, getting together, and having genuine fun."

A Family Project with Broader Benefits

Zoe made certain to involve Sophie in the planning process, making it a true family endeavor. Sophie is particularly excited as the DJ is someone who has previously performed at her school.

"It's lovely to see her so enthusiastic," said Zoe, who also has a seventeen-year-old son. "It's wonderful to do something that brings her happiness. I hope to inspire my children by creating an event for the entire family, complete with music, glow sticks, and sweets."

She added that she hopes this project teaches her children valuable life lessons about trying new things and persevering even if initial attempts do not succeed.

Beyond family bonding, the disco supports the local community. Zoe is dedicating one pound from every ticket sold at a participating school to that school's Parent-Teacher Association, aiding fundraising efforts for educational resources.

Join the Celebration

Zoe encourages families to participate in this unique weekend activity. "Everyone can dance, laugh, and enjoy great music together. It's a fantastic way to spend your weekend with the kids and meet other families," she stated.

"Don't miss out on the positive vibes and excellent tunes – we look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!"
