Fans of wartime nostalgia are invited to step back in time as SSAFA Durham presents Victory Bells, a musical and storytelling production celebrating the Second World War. The event will take place at West Auckland Memorial Hall on Friday, May 15, at 7pm, featuring an evening of music and memories inspired by the 1940s.
Musical Highlights
The production will include songs made famous by Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, and The Andrews Sisters, aiming to create a moving and uplifting community experience. Guests are encouraged to dress in wartime-style clothing, although this is optional.
Tickets and Proceeds
Tickets are priced at £5, with all proceeds going to SSAFA Durham to support serving personnel, veterans, and military families across the region. Mike Donne, Durham branch chair and community engagement lead, said: “Victory Bells promises to be a wonderful evening of music, remembrance and community spirit. We’d love people to come along, enjoy the atmosphere and support SSAFA’s work helping the Armed Forces community.”
