What is the Minecraft Meet the Mobs event?
The event, which runs daily until Friday, August 28, is described by the Staffordshire theme park as a 'first-of-its-kind' in the UK. It gives visitors the chance to meet characters from the virtual world, including Creeper, Chicken Jockey, and Iron Golem. The Minecraft takeover is evident from the moment you walk through the gates, with flags and decorations everywhere.
One of the highlights is the famous frog fountains, which have been given a 'mob' makeover for the occasion. The main Minecraft 'hub' is located in Fountain Square, near to Hex, where you can do regular meet and greets with characters and enjoy themed snack stands serving Minecraft-inspired TNT popcorn.
The Mob Trail: A fun, interactive adventure
The Mob Trail is the centrepiece of the event. Visitors pick up an activity card at the hub and head around the park to find six different baby Mobs, including pig, chicken, fox, and panda. One of the baby Mobs even squirts water at passersby, adding to the fun. After collecting all the stamps, you return to the hub to earn an exclusive Minecraft downloadable in-game reward.
The trail is designed to be fun and interactive for all ages. Our reviewer noted that even her toddler, who has no idea what Minecraft is yet, enjoyed seeing the baby Mob puppets. The event also includes games such as Pig Panic Toss, Bee Buzz Chase, and Zombie Freeze, which run every 20 minutes between 10 am and 6 pm on most days.

Around the hub, there is plenty of Minecraft merchandise on sale, including cuddly toys, t-shirts, mugs, and keyrings. The interactive element of the event was a big hit with our reviewer, who said it 'really added a different element to our day, and broke up the rollercoasters for the day.'
