Birmingham Citadel Unveils First Easter Art Exhibition

The Salvation Army in Birmingham is inviting the public to embark on a creative and reflective journey this Easter season, as Birmingham Citadel Church proudly hosts its very first Easter Art Exhibition. This immersive celebration focuses on themes of hope, faith, and new beginnings, offering a unique way to experience the Easter narrative.

Exhibition Details and Schedule

Running from Sunday, March 29 to Sunday, April 5, the exhibition showcases a diverse collection of paintings and drawings created by members of the church community. It transforms the Citadel into a vibrant space where art, music, and storytelling converge. Visitors can explore the displays through colour, texture, and form, engaging with the Easter story on a personal and profound level.

Soft background music will accompany the exhibition throughout the week, fostering an atmosphere of calm and contemplation. The experience reaches its peak on Easter Saturday with a special coffee morning from 10am to 12pm, described by organisers as the heart of the exhibition. This event blends sound and sight into a shared expression of joy and reflection.

Major Ian Standley, The Salvation Army church leader, emphasised the exhibition's purpose: "Art has a unique way of helping us see and feel things differently. This exhibition is an opportunity for people to explore the Easter story not just with their minds, but with their senses and emotions.
