The Polar Express train is returning to Birmingham Moor Street Station for Christmas 2026, and tickets are now on sale. The festive steam train experience will operate each weekend from November 22 to December 20, followed by daily services until December 23.
Festive journey details
Families are invited to wear their pyjamas for the event, which features the famous conductor with his golden-ticket punch, dancing chefs, and mugs of hot chocolate. Passengers will travel to the 'North Pole' in lantern-lit carriages and receive a gift from Father Christmas: a sleigh bell that rings for all those who believe.
The adventure includes live performers, storytelling, singing, and dancing. The Grade II listed station, first opened by the Great Western Railway in 1909 and known for its carefully restored 1930s-style character, will serve as the starting point for the journey.

The central Birmingham location offers easy access to the city's Christmas markets, seasonal food and drink, shops, restaurants, and attractions, giving passengers the chance to make a full festive day of it.
The spokesman added: "Passengers are encouraged to arrive in their pyjamas and step straight into the adventure, taking their seats in cosy, lantern-lit carriages as The Polar Express™ story unfolds around them through memorable scenes and well-known characters from the film."
Ticket prices and worldwide popularity
Tickets start from £56 for a classic seat and £71 for a first-class seat. The production welcomes more than 1.5 million riders across 54 locations worldwide each year, making it one of the most popular festive rail experiences of its kind.
The event is presented by PNP Events in partnership with Birmingham Moor Street, Rail Events Inc., and Warner Bros., recreating the film's festive energy through live performances and immersive storytelling.
