The Duchess of Sussex has revealed that her greatest strength lies in motherhood, describing her ability to balance responsibilities with what she calls 'grace and grit'. Meghan Markle, 45, shared these personal insights during a Q&A session with children for InStyle magazine, just before the release of her production company's latest documentary, Cookie Queens.
When asked directly what her superpower is, Meghan's response was immediate and heartfelt: 'being a mum'. She elaborated, saying: 'I feel like we have superpowers because we juggle it all and enjoy it all with grace and grit at the same time.'
Bravery and the Influence of Her Daughter
In the same interview, another child asked what makes her feel brave. Meghan's answer revealed a deeply personal source of courage: her daughter, Princess Lilibet. 'Every day, when I feel a little bit like "oh gosh, can I do this?", I go "Lili would do it"', she explained.
Meghan shares two children with her husband, Prince Harry, 41: Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. The couple's family life is often kept private, but this interview offers a rare glimpse into her perspective on parenting and resilience.
Behind the Scenes of 'Cookie Queens'
The comments come as Archewell Productions, the media company founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2020, prepares to debut Cookie Queens. The documentary, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, is a coming-of-age story centred on Girl Scouts and their cookie-selling enterprise.
The film follows 'four tenacious girls [who] strive to be a top-selling Cookie Queen, navigating an 800 million dollar business in which childhood and ambition collide'. It is directed by Alysa Nahmias and produced in partnership with Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films.
Meghan's Passionate Defence of the Project
At the Sundance premiere in January, Meghan delivered a speech praising the documentary as a 'powerful and meaningful depiction of something that is an American tradition'. She highlighted the film's deeper layers, saying: 'This film is probably the cutest at the festival but I'm also going to go out on a limb and say it is one of the most powerful and meaningful depictions of something that is an American tradition and rooted in nostalgia.'
She continued: 'It is now put through this lens from the incredible creative vision of Alysa to show something modernised about the girlhood experience and all the layers of complexity that come with that. So yes, it's cute, and yes, these young ladies are fantastic and adorable, but they are also layered beautiful girls who are about to become very strong leaders and young women. So thank you for supporting that.'
Archewell's Growing Portfolio
Since its founding, Archewell Productions has built an impressive slate of content. The company has an ongoing partnership with Netflix and has produced the documentary series Harry & Meghan (2022) and Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan (2025). Other credits include Live To Lead, featuring interviews with world leaders and influencers, as well as the documentaries Heart Of Invictus and Polo.
The release of Cookie Queens marks another milestone for the couple's production ambitions, blending entertainment with empowering narratives. Meghan's recent comments underscore her personal commitment to championing resilience and leadership, both on screen and in her own life.
