Titanic Exhibition Returns to Birmingham NEC with New Historical Artefacts

The acclaimed Titanic Exhibition, produced by White Star Heritage, is making a highly anticipated return to Birmingham's NEC this month. This celebrated touring exhibition will be open from Sunday, April 19, through Tuesday, May 26, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the story of the RMS Titanic with new additions to its collection.

New and Exclusive Artefacts on Display

This year's exhibition features a remarkable collection of artefacts that have never been displayed in Birmingham before. Among the highlights is an original Titanic deckchair, one of the very few items known to have survived the tragic sinking on April 15, 1912. This deckchair was recovered from the ocean just days after the disaster, making it an extraordinary piece of maritime history.

Another significant addition is a fragment of the ship's original wooden decking, which was pulled from the seabed more than two miles below the Atlantic Ocean. This fragment has been recently conserved and will be making its Birmingham debut, providing a tangible connection to the ship's construction and final moments.

Immersive Experience and Educational Elements

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to trace the full story of the RMS Titanic, from its construction in Belfast to its tragic sinking and subsequent rediscovery. The experience includes authentic artefacts, immersive soundscapes, and live actor crew members who bring the history to life.

Each attendee will receive a boarding card bearing the name of a real passenger who boarded the ship, adding a personal touch to the educational journey. For those seeking deeper insights, an expert pass is available, offering lectures with Dik Barton, one of the few individuals to have dived down to the Titanic wreck site.
