Meghan Markle's Personal Touch on MasterChef Australia

Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia, and her personal approach to timekeeping won widespread praise from viewers. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was introduced as a humanitarian and philanthropist as she entered the set in Melbourne, dressed all in black.

Gentle Time Calls

Instead of shouting across the kitchen that contestants had 30 minutes left, Meghan individually approached each chef to inform them personally. She explained she did not like to yell, a move that viewers called 'adorable' and 'so very Meghan'. One fan wrote on X: 'This is super cute and so very Meghan! Instead of yelling "30 minutes left" she chooses to tell each contestant personally.' Another added: 'Omg she's so adorable. I love her! Meghan doing the 30min time call for the contestants, instead of yelling it she did it personally! She says "I don't like to yell". My Princess, they are absolutely loving her.' A third commented: 'Watching Duchess Meghan on MasterChef Australia was such a delight. Her calm, gentle presence brought a little warmth to a competition where the stakes couldn't be higher.'

'Call Me Meghan'

Before the former Suits actress arrived, host Poh Ling Yeow told contestants she was excited to introduce the 'mystery guest judge' filling in for Andy Allen, who was on paternity leave. When Poh asked, 'Do I call you Duchess?', Meghan embraced her and replied, 'Oh, call me Meghan. Absolutely, yeah.' She then gushed about her love for Australia, having first visited with Prince Harry eight years ago.

Prince Harry's Favourite Meal

During the episode, Meghan boasted that both her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, enjoy eating Brussels sprouts. She also revealed that Prince Harry's favourite meal is 'meat, potatoes and cream sauce'. At one point, Prince Harry called Meghan on set. Producers handed her the phone, and she greeted him with 'hi, my love', later calling him 'a charmer'. The episode was filmed in Melbourne in April during a four-day tour of Australia with Prince Harry.
