The Jigsaw Festival, a popular annual event celebrating hundreds of completed puzzles, is returning to Greater Manchester next month. Around 1,000 completed jigsaw puzzles will be on display inside the historic St Paul’s Church in Ramsbottom, offering visitors an ever-changing display of varied designs across a four-day celebration.
Event details and display
The festival gives puzzle lovers the chance to purchase new and completed sets. As each puzzle sells, volunteers will instantly replace it with a new design from the stockroom, ensuring the display remains fresh throughout the event. Live musical entertainment will also take place during the multi-day event for guests to enjoy.
Organiser David Foster said: “Besides being a successful fund-raising event for the two churches, the Jigsaw Festival has become a real community project. Almost since we closed the doors on the 2025 Jigsaw Festival many people all over the Ramsbottom, Edenfield and Bury areas and beyond, have spent many hours putting jigsaw puzzles together for this year’s event, and bringing them into St Paul’s on a Saturday morning on a regular basis. We would like to thank them for their efforts. A warm welcome is extended to visit St Paul’s Church to see the fruits of their labours and enjoy the popular St Paul’s hospitality in the Parish Room café where refreshments will be available throughout the Jigsaw Festival.”
Community involvement and volunteering
Festival organisers are also looking for volunteers to assist with running the event this autumn. Help is needed across several roles including sales desk helpers, raffle sellers, and door stewards. The festival serves as a fundraising event for the two churches involved, and has grown into a real community project, according to Foster.
Volunteers and visitors alike are encouraged to participate. The event will take place at St Paul’s Church, Bridge Street, Ramsbottom, from Wednesday, September 2 to Saturday, September 5. Entry costs £2, with accompanied children entering free of charge.
