Birmingham's Spirit of Pakistan festival has returned for its second year, promising to be "bigger than ever" with around 27 free and ticketed events scheduled between August 1 and 15. The festival, which celebrates the contributions and influence of British Pakistanis, launched last August and has quickly become a key date in the city's cultural calendar.
A Celebration of Diversity and Community
Birmingham is home to dozens of cultures, and the festival embodies the city's commitment to celebrating everyone, regardless of background. Spirit of Pakistan was co-founded by the late Councillor Waseem Zaffar, described as a "tireless champion for Birmingham," who passed away earlier this year. His vision of bringing communities together lives on through this vibrant event.
The first week of the festival has already featured a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, conversations, and cricket showcases. In the coming days, attendees can look forward to a comedy show, family arts workshops, and sessions exploring the Pakistani diaspora.

The festival aims to showcase the many ways British Pakistanis continue to shape Birmingham, enrich British culture, and strengthen connections with Pakistan.
