Retro Kits Hit the Shelves in Shrewsbury
A Shrewsbury shop has become a destination for football fans after stocking classic England and Argentina kits. The store, located in the town centre, is selling replicas of iconic shirts worn in memorable matches, including the 1986 World Cup quarter-final between England and Argentina.
The collection features the famous blue and white stripes of Argentina and the classic white England shirt with navy trim. According to the shop owner, the kits have attracted significant interest from collectors and supporters alike.
Historic Matches Remembered
The Argentina shirt is a replica of the one worn by Diego Maradona during the 1986 World Cup, where he scored the infamous “Hand of God” goal and the “Goal of the Century” against England. The England shirt mirrors the kit worn by players like Gary Lineker in that same tournament.
“These shirts are more than just clothing; they represent moments in football history that fans still talk about today,” the shop owner said.
Fans Flock to Purchase
Since the kits went on sale, the shop has seen a surge in customers, with many purchasing both shirts. The shop plans to expand its retro range to include other classic football kits from around the world.
