The Derbyshire Community Male Voice Choir celebrated its 70th anniversary with a special concert at St Peter's Church in Belper, performing to a packed audience of over 300 people. The event marked seven decades of music-making in the community.
Concert Highlights
The choir was joined by two local groups for the evening, performing 26 musical pieces before a massed-voices finale. Local dignitaries attended alongside members of the public to show their support. A special congratulatory message from His Majesty The King was also read during the celebrations.
Charity Fundraising
In keeping with their tradition of supporting local causes, the concert raised hundreds of pounds for Umbrella, a regional family charity. The group has been collecting money throughout the year and will now hand over a total of £2,100 to the organisation.
