A restaurant that has been a favourite in Nottingham for ten years is set to open its first branch in the West Midlands. Baresca Tapas, known for its 'superb' and 'wonderful' Barcelona-inspired dining experience, will launch in Mere Green on Wednesday, July 22.
New Location in Mere Green
The bar and restaurant is taking over the former Bistrot Pierre on Mere Green Road, with capacity for 150 diners indoors and 40 on the outdoor terrace. It marks the third restaurant for Perkins Family Group, which also runs Escabeche in West Bridgford, Nottingham.
Jon Perkins, managing director of the group, expressed his excitement: "Mere Green feels like the perfect place to write the next chapter of the Baresca story. It has a fantastic sense of community and an independent spirit that aligns perfectly with what we're all about, and we're excited to become part of it. It's also so great to be part of the wider Birmingham hospitality scene, which is so supportive of independent venues."
Barcelona-Inspired Dining
Perkins noted that the inspiration for Baresca has always been the spirit of Barcelona. "The city has an incredible way of bringing people together around the table. Meals are relaxed, food is shared, conversations last longer and there is a real sense of connection. That's the feeling we've always tried to recreate through Escabeche and Baresca."
Menu highlights include Baresca's signature rotisserie chicken, which is locally sourced, brined and marinated for 24 hours before being slow-roasted on a spit. The restaurant will also serve cocktails, sangria, vermouth and Spanish wines. Vinyl DJ sessions are planned for Friday evenings, and a breakfast menu will be available on weekends.
