The first trailer for The Bluey Movie has been released, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming feature film. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2027. The trailer opens with Bluey playing 'keepy uppy' with a red balloon, sending it soaring into the sky. Her sister Bingo says, "I'll get it," as she keeps it from hitting the ground. Bluey responds, "Good one Bingo," to which Bingo replies, "Thanks Bluey." The Heeler sisters scream as they accidentally push the balloon forwards, racing towards it while Bluey shouts: "Don't let it touch the ground." As the balloon hits the grass, Bingo lets out an "oh no," and they run away as it pops to reveal the film's title.
The trailer was shared on X by Walt Disney Studios, with the post captioned: "For real life? The Bluey Movie coming only to theatres August 6, 2027."
Fans Question the 3D Animation Style
Despite the excitement, many fans were quick to notice the change in animation style. Simon commented: "Oh no... why is this 3D? Please undo this! This is a big mistake. What's next? A live action version?" Ashley replied: "While I'm actually looking forward to this, I got to ask why the art style change? The 3D looks better than the supposed leaks but the original art style is iconic, so why alter it?"
Another fan wrote: "My daughter said 'it looks like Chat GPT made it'. I'm sure it will be fine, but why the 3D CGI animation?" Ross added: "The 3D animation looks terrible."
