Former Big Brother presenter Emma Willis, 50, has revealed the touching message she received from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman ahead of her debut as host of Strictly Come Dancing. Comedian Josh Widdicombe, 43, and Strictly professional Johannes Radebe, 39, join Emma as the new presenting trio for series 24, replacing Tess and Claudia.
Speaking to The Sun, Emma said: "We've had a little back and forth, yes, and they were lovely. They just said, 'Congrats, well done, you'll smash it'. And I was like, 'S***!' No tips. Just lots of kind words."
Departure of Tess and Claudia
Tess, 57, and Claudia, 54, jointly announced their decision to leave the show in October 2025, ending Tess's 21-year tenure as host since the first series and Claudia's 11-year run, having joined in 2014. Their farewell appearance was during the Christmas special on December 25, 2025.
Strictly returns to BBC One in September 2026 with a star-studded cast for series 24. Emma, Josh, and Johannes will be joined by the judging panel: Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas.
New Hosts' Vision
Emma hinted at ambitious plans for the revamped show, adding: "We will bring fun and joy - and that's what the show is. It's a big celebration of life and individuality. Hopefully we will continue to do it justice. It's super, super important that we have full representation on screen. I think Strictly do it brilliantly."
