A new immersive Netflix experience opens at the EE Experience Store in Merry Hill shopping centre tomorrow (Tuesday, August 4), offering visitors a free sensory journey through some of the platform's most popular shows. Running until Sunday, August 9, the activation is designed to showcase Netflix's catalogue through EE TV, giving TV and film fans a unique way to engage with their favourite content.
What the Experience Includes
Visitors can explore several themed zones, including an eerie crime-scene corridor, a comedy club with an on-cue laugh track, and a stadium experience complete with astroturf and the scent of freshly cut grass. Each zone is crafted to immerse guests in the worlds of shows like Legends, The Hawk, and WWE Raw, allowing them to choose their own adventure as they move through the space. Afterwards, attendees can pick up exclusive Netflix summer merchandise, ranging from branded items to limited-edition collectibles.
Why EE is Bringing This to Merry Hill
Asif Aziz, Retail Director at EE, explained the motivation behind the activation: “TV has changed dramatically in recent years, giving people more choice, flexibility and control over what they watch, wherever they are. At EE, we’re always looking for new ways to bring fans closer to the entertainment they love, which is why we are excited to launch this immersive retail experience in our West Midlands Experience Stores. Whether you are into thrillers, comedy or sport, it’s a fun reminder of the must-watch Netflix shows available through EE TV. We encourage TV and film fans alike to come into our store, experience it for themselves and speak to our expert EE Guides about flexible TV packages that are right for them.”
Netflix's Perspective on the Partnership
Joshua Walker, Director of Marketing Partnerships for Northern Europe at Netflix, added: “This summer, Netflix is packed with feel-good favourites, and through EE TV it’s easier than ever for households to find something to watch together. We’re excited that people get to dive into these worlds in the EE store over the summer as we build on our partnership with EE TV to make it even simpler for customers to enjoy the best of Netflix.”
More Immersive Experiences Coming to Merry Hill
This isn't the only immersive experience heading to Merry Hill. Bodycare is set to return to the shopping centre this summer, with hoardings already in place. The new store will feature a TikTok studio and a piercing studio, offering customers a range of interactive activities. While a specific opening date hasn't been confirmed, the retailer is expected to open its doors before the end of the summer, promising a far more interactive experience than the Bodycare stores of the past.
The Netflix experience at EE is free to attend, and no booking is required. Visitors can simply walk into the store during opening hours to take part. With the summer holidays in full swing, this is likely to be a popular attraction for families and entertainment enthusiasts across the West Midlands.
