New Japanese Fusion Restaurant Opens in Selly Oak After Deli Closure
New Selly Oak Restaurant Opens After Deli Closure

A new restaurant has opened in Selly Oak following the closure of a neighbourhood deli last month. Deli 17 had been trading on Raddlebarn Road for two years before announcing its closure, leaving an empty unit at the junction of Heeley Road. Now, a new brand has moved in, offering 'authentic Japanese fusion' dishes.

Flavour Lounge Menu and Offerings

Flavour Lounge serves sushi, ramen, bento, and noodles, with poke bowls and bao buns also on the menu. Like its predecessor, the new restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating, as well as takeaway and delivery options. With sushi platters priced at under £8 and whole bento boxes from £13.99, the price point is expected to attract new customers to Raddlebarn Road.

Location and Neighbouring Businesses

Heeley Road is a popular street for students, many of whom study at the nearby University of Birmingham. The section of road where Flavour Lounge sits is home to several good food options, including Dolphin Fish Bar, one of the city's best-rated fish and chip shops; Paprika, a Persian grill restaurant; and Bisque and Bean, a community coffee shop. Further up the road, Cocobab Korean restaurant remains popular, while Greek House serves authentic gyros near Birmingham Hospice.
