Tamera Mowry, best known for her role in the 1990s sitcom Sister Sister, has celebrated her 48th birthday in a unique way that has left fans astonished. The actress shared a video on Instagram showing her receiving a chocolate cake with candles reading '3' and '8', before switching the '3' to a '4' to reveal her actual age.
Birthday Dance and Message
In the video, Mowry initially pretends to run away from the cake but quickly turns around and dances with the birthday numbers. She captioned the post: "We spend so much time running from our age. Well, this year, I’m dancing with it. 48 and grateful, because every year is a gift not everyone gets to unwrap."
Fans were quick to express their disbelief, with many commenting that they thought she was still in her 30s. One wrote: "How!!! We were watching you on TV just yesterday Happy Birthday hun." Another added: "Would’ve fooled me! I thought you were definitely still in your 30s." A third said: "I was fully ready to believe you were turning 38."
Twin Tia and Growing Apart
Tamera shares her birthday with her twin sister Tia Mowry, who recently confirmed in 2025 that the sisters have "naturally grown apart" over the years. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tia said: "Yes, there’s distance. But when something is important to you… you will make time for it. We’ve made a pact with each other that we’ll reach out once per week, and that’s on Sundays."
The twins rose to fame on Sister Sister, which aired from 1994 to 1999. Nearly three decades later, Tamera's birthday post has reignited interest in the show and the sisters' relationship.
