TGI Fridays is offering GCSE students a free dirty soda today (August 20) to celebrate their results. The offer is valid only for today and requires students to bring their GCSE results to a participating location.
How to claim the free drink
Students can claim one free dirty soda per person by showing their GCSE results at any TGI Fridays location, including those across Birmingham. The offer is not available for delivery, dine-out orders, or click and collect. The chain previously ran the same promotion on August 13 for A-Level students.
Supporting students on results day
Thousands of students across the country, including in Birmingham and the West Midlands, have been collecting their GCSE results this morning. Charlotte Gater, Head of Education at Explore Learning, commented on the pressures students face: "The intense pressure surrounding GCSE exams can make disappointing results feel devastating for young people. We frequently see students with solid grades feeling let down simply because their peers performed better."
Advice for parents and caregivers
Gater added: "Parents and caregivers have a vital role in challenging this toxic mindset, especially given the enormous pressure teens face to match or compete with their friends." Young people are being urged not to compare their results to others or bow to peer pressure.
