The Titanic Exhibition at Birmingham's NEC has extended its run until July 19, 2026, following exceptional demand. Originally scheduled to end on May 26, the exhibition will reopen in NEC Hall 10 on June 10 and continue through the summer.
New Artefacts on Display
The extended run introduces a significant group of newly acquired artefacts going on public display for the first time. Highlights include a genuine R.M.S. Titanic lifeboat plaque, one of the few physical remnants of Titanic's lifeboats known to have survived. Additionally, four fragments of metal, glass, and ceramic recovered from a Second Class cabin during a seabed scientific expedition will be showcased, offering tangible connections to life aboard the ship.
Also joining the collection is the expedition jumpsuit of the late Paul-Henri Nargeolet, the French Navy commander who completed more than 35 dives to the wreck before losing his life in the Titan submersible implosion of June 2023.
Further new acquisitions include a Turkish Bath weight ticket bearing the names of Lady and Cosmo Duff-Gordon, one of only three known to exist; a survivor's postcard written aboard Titanic days before the sinking; an original 1909 photograph of the Harland and Wolff drawing office featuring the builder's half-model of Olympic/Titanic; and the joinery tools of carpenter Robert Henry Walker, who worked on both ships during their construction.
Director's Statement
Tom Rudderham, director of White Star Heritage, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be extending the exhibition and to be bringing so many remarkable new artefacts on show in Birmingham for the very first time. This is a truly exceptional collection and we cannot wait for visitors to experience it."
