Zendaya has revealed the adorable nickname her husband Tom Holland uses for her: 'Maria.' The revelation came during an exclusive interview with Heart's Showbiz Kids, promoting their new film Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The Story Behind 'Maria'
When asked why Tom calls her 'Maria,' Zendaya explained, 'My family call me Marie because that's my middle name. It's also my mum's middle name. My family also calls me 'Daya,' so my little nieces and nephews call me 'Auntie Daya.'
She added, 'I get 'Big Head' a lot. My brothers call me 'Big Head' because I have a big head. When I was born the doctor had to measure my head twice because they couldn't believe how big it was.'
Tom's Own Nicknames
Zendaya also shared that Tom's nickname is simply 'Tom' since his full name is Thomas, and people sometimes call him 'T.' The couple, who met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming and married in 2025, have a playful dynamic that shone through the interview.
Joining them was co-star Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned. The trio described the interview as 'the best interview ever' as they answered questions from the Showbiz Kids.
